Jen Perry from Room Forty with Afternoon Tea

Mobile afternoon tea emporium Room Forty opened their doors to the NHS as a thank you for the last 70 years of care.

An open invitation sent out through social media invited NHS staff to pop along in to Lymm Parish Hall to enjoy a free cuppa and scone courtesy of award winning Room Forty. Nursing and medical staff popped in to enjoy a brew and refresh, recharge and take refuge from the scorching temperatures.

Jen Perry, proprietor of Room Forty says: “All of us love our wonderful NHS which has now reached the grand old age of 70. We co-hosted our fourth Crafternoon Tea at Lymm Parish Hall on Sunday so it was easy for us to bake some extra scones and serve some extra tea to the fabulous staff of the NHS. Serving those who popped in was a privilege and an honour.”

The popular Craft-ernoon Tea in Lymm was the fourth to be co-hosted by Sewing Bee Sanctuary and Room Forty and the next – set for 18 November – is already booking up .

The Craft-ernoon Tea events offer a chance to learn to sew with expert tuition by Sewing Bee Sanctuary, followed by a sumptuous Afternoon Tea hand made by Room Forty along with a glass of fizz. Room Forty also run a pop up Afternoon Tea Room on the same day.

Results are guaranteed and guests take home the fruits of their labour to use and proudly show family and friends. Once the learning is over they can relax with one of Room Forty’s sumptuous afternoon tea’s all handmade and served on beautiful vintage fine bone china.
