Hot on the heels of its debut, Manchester Kitchen Social returned to Stockport with another deliciously friendly food lovers’ event.

The food photography networking event encourages cooking professionals to produce three dishes alongside their peers, artisan producers, writers, photographers and filmmakers. The dishes are then photographed by Majella O’Connell with the images then becoming available to the chefs and those involved for use on social media.

Manchester Kitchen Social is the brainchild of Mancunian Majella O’Connell, now living in London, who founded the successful London Kitchen Social which recently celebrated its first birthday.

The food-photography focused networking events are open to chefs and bakers from across the region and held its second event the fabulous show kitchen at Noones Fresh in Stockport. Produce at this event was provided by an assortment of suppliers including R Noones & Sons, QSM Beef & Lamb supplied by Corry’s Butchers and incorporated crockery from Crosbys. This event had an added touch of a butchery demo organised by AHDB

Founder Majella O’Connell of Culina Socialis says: “It is such a thrill for me to have launched Manchester Kitchen Social where my career in hospitality began 23 years ago, London Kitchen Social started small with two chefs and grew slowly, but the Manchester events have picked up momentum straight away with foodies clamouring to attend. The first one, held on held on 15th January, was fully booked two weeks prior to its launch date and the next one is on March 12.”

“I am delighted for the turnout second get together. As well as some returning chefs there were newcomers including James Sherwin, Chef & Owner of Wild Shropshire and Dave Crichton, Masterchef 2018 finalist. It was also a pleasure hosting Chatting Food and Forty Communcations.”

The idea behind London and Manchester Kitchen Social is to collate groups of upcoming chefs, bakers, makers and creatives together in one room to not only get their dishes photographed professionally but also to get individuals talking and collaborating about food and the industry. The events certainly help the chefs, producers and suppliers expand their digital portfolio.

The launch of Manchester Kitchen Social comes on the back of a successful year for Culina Socialis with owner Majella O’Connell hosting eight sold-out London Kitchen Social events in 2018 alongside taking the concept live with two sold-out interactive dining events, which saw five chefs deliver a seven-course tasting menu to an audience of 66 guests at #LKSLIVE.
