The Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival is back, with its popular Ice Bar. This year, it’s been given an Enchanted Forest theme that includes spectacular frozen sculptures that took up to 200 hours to carve in total.
Guests enter the Ice Bar to feel the freeze and enjoy a complimentary shot (there’s a children’s option available too!) before wandering around the bar that is packed with enchanting ice sculptures including a Tree of Truth that is inspired by Rome’s Mouth of Truth – a marble mask with a face and open mouth on, which according to legend, closes when a liar puts its hand in it.
The Tree of Truth is just one of many intrinsically created sculptures that make up the ten tonnes of ice that sit within the Ice Bar, situated on the Pier Head.
Other creations include a replica of the throne from hit movie The Huntsman: Winter’s War, that guests can sit on and take advantage of a photo opportunity.
The Ice Bar, which is packed with ice that is made from over 40,000 mugs of water, also serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival runs through Christmas and New Year until January 7.
