Learning with Experts is launching both an online chocolate course with master chocolatier Paul A Young, and an online bread making course with expert French baker Richard Bertinet.

Perfect as an unusual Easter gift, the courses offer insight and tuition directly from experts, allowing consumers to master a new skill from the comfort of their homes.

Paul’s The Art of Chocolate Making course is available for pre-order and students can begin any time, while Bertinet’s An Introduction to Bread Making is available to start from April 10.

Just in time for Easter, Paul’s chocolate course includes an introduction to chocolate, tempering and making truffles, ganaches, and moulded chocolates, while Richard’s bread-making course teaches people how to understand and work a broad range of dough such as fougasse, olive bread and pizza dough.

Paul trained as a chef under Marco Pierre White before taking the plunge and launching his own chocolate career, Paul’s passion for his craft and his cutting-edge creativity have led him to international acclaim. He now has two chocolateries in London including a stunning flagship store on Wardour Street in Soho Paul regularly appears on television including regular appearances on Saturday Kitchen and This Morning.

Paul also regularly headlines at consumer and trade exhibitions here in the UK and abroad including the FT Weekend, Ideal Home Show, Grand Designs Live, Cork Chocolate & Baking Weekend and the prestigious World Gourmet Festival in Bangkok Paul’s first book ‘Adventures with Chocolate’ won the World’s Best Chocolate Book at the Gourmand Cookbook Awards in Paris shortly after publication and was included in the Independent’s Top 50 cookbooks.

His second book was produced in partnership with Lakeland and his third, ‘Sensational Chocolate’ in aid of Children’s Air Ambulance, came out in 2016.

An Introduction to Bread Making with Richard Bertinet

For soon-to-be bread makers, learning from Richard Bertinet’s wealth of expertise is the perfect opportunity to master bread making at home. Richard will teach students the foundation of a good loaf and help them master the techniques needed to make perfect bread every time.

Richard Bertinet trained as a baker from the age of 14. Having moved to the UK in the late 1980s, he started cooking, with stints at the Chewton Glen Hotel, as head chef at both the Rhinefield House Hotel in the New Forest and the Silver Plough at Pitton in Salisbury.

In 1996, a position as Operations Director with the Novelli Group of restaurants brought him to London, where in 1998 he started advising small food related businesses.

The business flourished causing Richard to set up the Dough Co, his consultancy business, in 2000 and to split his time between consultancy work advising on the development of new products for several supermarket chains, teaching and writing.

What are Learning with Experts courses?
