The Golden Chopsticks awards roadshow – which celebrates the very best in Oriental cuisine – is coming to Lu Ban Liverpool this month.
Co-founded by fashion guru Gok Wan, this is the first year the awards have gone out on the road in the quest to find restaurants and chefs who are making their mark on the Far East food scene.
The roadshow brings together regional food press and bloggers to consider potential nominees for the 2020 awards, which will be held in London on April 27th.
Nominations will cross all Oriental cuisine including Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese.
There are 20 categories in total, which also incorporates suppliers, supermarkets, food writers and individuals who contribute to the growth of the Oriental food scene.
A number of awards are voted for by the public, but seven categories are decided by the Golden Chopsticks judging panel, which includes famed Chinese chef Ken Hom, who is the head judge, and TV chef Simon Rimmer.
Lu Ban, which opened in November 2019, is proud to have been selected to host the Golden Chopsticks regional roadshow February 24th.
Mike Mounfield, Lu Ban Liverpool co-founder and operations director, said: “We are privileged to be able to host the Golden Chopsticks roadshow. The awards are a celebration of Oriental cuisine and we are pleased to be able to provide the region’s media and bloggers with the perfect location to discuss nominations.”
